Tight supply in China and firm pulp costs pushed lyocell and modal prices higher across Asia this month, despite weak demand. Modal gained more than lyocell, with a sharp jump in Pakistan. Spinner margins moved in opposite directions in India and Pakistan.
This monthly report tracks lyocell and modal fiber prices in China, India, and Pakistan, alongside lyocell and modal yarn prices in India and Pakistan. The lyocell-viscose spread is calculated to measure the sustainable fiber premium. Yarn-to-fiber spreads are included to assess spinning mill margin trends.
