Down prices in China ended the third quarter lower. The decline was small for white goose and white duck down. Grey grades lost much more. This quarterly report follows goose and duck down prices in China in yuan and US dollars, with weekly and monthly data and a five-year history.

The summer heatwave disrupted the European flax season, but it should not reduce output significantly. Plants matured early, and the dry weather slowed retting. New fiber will reach the market later than usual. Record acreage should still lift European production above last season's level. In China, spinners bought more flax fiber this year but exported less linen yarn. More of their yarn now goes to local weavers and garment makers.
