Recycled Polyester Fiber Prices
Prices for recycled polyester are tracked in China, India, and Pakistan, covering Recycled Polyester Staple Fibers (Re-PSF), including GRS Close Virgin in China, and Recycled Polyester Oriented Yarns (Re-POY), with benchmarks certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
These prices are compared against virgin polyester prices across the three countries. Additionally, Re-PSF and Re-POY prices are analyzed alongside PET bottle flake prices to assess gross margin trends in recycled fiber manufacturing.

Recycled polyester filament yarns rose faster than virgin yarns in September. Producers passed on higher bottle flake costs as the peak season lifted demand for GRS-certified yarns. The discount to virgin POY in China has almost closed and could turn into a premium in the coming weeks. Recycled staple fibers did not enjoy the same support.

Virgin polyester staple fiber prices have surged since March under the pressure of crude oil and intermediates. Recycled polyester has not followed. Close virgin re-PSF now trades at a discount to virgin fiber in China, a rare situation as GRS certified fiber usually commands a premium. The discount is attracting new buyers, but weak demand has so far prevented producers from raising prices.
