12 July 2010 - Cotton futures heavily fell in the last week in New York, reflecting an expected decline in cotton prices in the coming season. Physical prices are remaining at very high levels by contrast, due to a continued lack of supply until the new crop arrives.
5 July 2010 - Cotton prices heavily fell in the last week in New York, over a new global wave of economic pessimism. A sharp increase in US and Indian cotton production is also expected in the coming season which should put pressure on prices.
28 June 2010 - Cotton prices could stay at a very high level in the next season, starting August 1st. Although production will strongly rise, it will remain below global consumption, with ending stocks further declining, as a result.
21 June 2010 - Cotton prices stayed at their new high level in the last week, as market fundamentals remained very strong. A looming lack of supply should continue supporting prices until the new crop starts reaching the market.
