ApparelInflation in Emerging Countries (Monthly)

Inflation kept rising in most Asian countries in September, but the acceleration triggered by the Middle East crisis remains moderate. Subsidies, administered energy prices and weak demand have absorbed part of the oil shock so far. The pressure is building in countries that import crude and gas from the Gulf, in South Asia above all. This monthly report compares inflation rates in 15 low-cost countries, in local currency and in US dollar, euro and pound terms, with data back to 2010 and IMF forecasts to 2030.

This weekly report covers wool auction prices in Australia and South Africa by micron category, with a trend analysis and historical data.

This monthly report covers China’s fiber and yarn prices with benchmark indicators, local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang) and yarn to fiber spreads for cotton, polyester and viscose.

Consumer prices also picked up, but apparel sales remained depressed in August. The manufacturing survey improved, with a slim majority of optimists. This monthly report follows producer, purchasing and consumer prices in China, including textiles, clothing and chemical fibers, along with apparel retail sales and the manufacturing PMI, with a trend analysis and historical data.
