13 January 2010 - Nylon prices began rising in the past weeks in China, over much stronger raw material costs. Caprolactam prices are being boosted by higher benzene prices while demand is also stronger from downward processors in the polyamide pipeline.
10 December 2009 - Nylon prices are now rebounding in China, as a result of higher raw material costs. China's production of polyamide fibers continued soaring in the past months, but prices should now be boosted by the heavy anti-dumping duties imposed by Beijing on nylon chip and nylon 6 imports.
12 November 2009 - Nylon/Polyamide prices stayed relatively stable in the past four weeks in China, whatever the rebound in caprolactam prices and while other fiber prices were surging. Beijing imposed a series of anti-dumping duties on adipic acid, nylon 6 and 6,6 chips, in addition.
13 October 2009 - Nylon/polyamide prices further declined in the past weeks in China, reflecting lower raw material costs and a weak level in demand. The current rebound in benzene prices may however boost caprolactam prices. On the 6,6 front, China just announced heavy anti-dumping tariffs on imports of nylon chips.
8 September 2009 - Raw material costs are in free fall in the nylon 6 chain, putting filament prices under pressure although they rose in the last weeks. A decline in benzene and caprolactam prices could however be limited by a lower CPL production this fall in the Far East.
