4 February 2016 - Yarn margins have slightly risen in January in China over a fall of cotton prices whereas spinners in Pakistan have struggled with higher material costs. Our monthly report compares cotton fiber and yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, offering a comprehensive view of the yarn/fiber spreads in the three countries. These gross margins of domestic spinners are displayed on a monthly basis with historical data back to 2007 being available for download.
4 February 2016 - Yarn prices are very firm in Pakistan or even slightly rising, due to high cotton price levels, energy shortages curtailing production and stronger demand from weaving sector, our correspondent reports. Our monthly review covers the cotton and polyester-cotton yarn markets with a long series of tables, charts and historical data back to 2007. In addition to Karachi and Faisalabad, our report now covers the Lahore and Multan markets.
3 February 2016 - Yarn prices are relatively stable in India. Demand is dwindling on the international market, but Indian spinners have reduced their operating rates. Our comprehensive review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Export market prices are also available for both cotton and polyester-cotton.
2 February 2016 - Spun yarn prices could stop falling after new year holidays, in the second part of February. The decline of the renminbi has raised import prices above domestic price levels. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.
2 February 2016 - China's imports of cotton yarns have soared over the last ten years, and continued sharply rising in full 2015, as reflected by the just released data from Chinese customs which we have extracted and analysed. India has been the main winner of the last years, with Vietnamese shipments however surging, whereas Pakistan was losing ground. Variations have been calculated in volume, value and unit price terms over the 2005-2015 period. All data can be easily downloaded through our csv files.
