22 January 2010 - Cotton yarn prices more sharply rose in India and Pakistan in the last months than in China. Raw material prices less dramatically increased in China while spinners had to partly absorb the higher cotton prices, by contrast with larger profits for Indian and Pakistani yarn industries.
15 January 2010 - Prices of Indian cotton yarns stopped rising on the international market while viscose, polyester and blended yarn prices continued increasing. Demand remains very strong as orders from US and EU retailers are now being received by major apparel producing countries in Asia, our India Correspondent reports.
14 January 2010 - India's clothing exports are now expected recovering thanks to stronger orders from US and EU buyers. After more or less resisting the western recession and the removal of US quotas, Indian exporters are now confronted with surging material costs which may limit the rebound in shipments in 2010.
13 January 2010 - Spun yarn prices further rose in January in India but at a much lower pace than in November-December. This is mostly due to less sharply increasing raw material costs, as demand remains however strong from yarn processors, our India Correspondent reports.
8 January 2010 - Polyester prices continued increasing in India, mostly due to higher raw material costs. Demand for textured yarns was relatively weak in the past period but texturisers may be forced further increasing their rates in the very near term, our India Corrspondent reports.
