26 July 2010 - Cotton prices resisted last week in New York, still reflecting the lack of supply in the ending season 2009-2010. Prices however declined on the physical market, partly due to weaker activity in this period of the year, and are still expected sharply falling in the next season.
19 July 2010 - Cotton prices are now widely expected to heavily fall in the coming period, in line with a sharp rise of global production in the new season. Prices tumbled last Saturday in Pakistan from their record highs while they also began declining in China, for the first time in months.
12 July 2010 - Cotton futures heavily fell in the last week in New York, reflecting an expected decline in cotton prices in the coming season. Physical prices are remaining at very high levels by contrast, due to a continued lack of supply until the new crop arrives.
5 July 2010 - Cotton prices heavily fell in the last week in New York, over a new global wave of economic pessimism. A sharp increase in US and Indian cotton production is also expected in the coming season which should put pressure on prices.
