EU Will Maintain Anti-Dumping Duties on PSF from China and Korea

4 September 2008 - The European Union will not remove anti-dumping duties on imports of polyester staple fibers from China, South Korea and Saudi Arabia. Following a new in-depth investigation, the Commission found that EU PSF production rose in the recent period while its profits declined. As other markets continue imposing additional tariffs on Korean and Chinese PSF, an elimination of EU dumping duties would immediately result in a surge of dumped imports from China and Korea, the Commission concluded. Turkey Plans Safeguard Against Cotton Yarn Imports (Statistical Report)

30 May 2008 - Turkey may launch a safeguard investigation on cotton yarn imports in the coming days after shipments from India and Pakistan surged in the last year. An additional duty would immediately apply on imports from certain supplying countries with other origins being possibly exempted.
