1 July 2009 - India's apparel exports still fell 10% in April, reflecting the sharp decline triggered by the global economic recession. Indian clothing exports are also negatively affected by the removal of US quotas on Chinese products. Indian exporters lowered their prices this year but are still in direct competition with China, as indicated by our series of statistical tables detailing average prices by product categories on both US and EU markets.
